Survival Games have come a long way since 2013. For those of you interested in the genre, but not too keen on the whole “Multiplayer Sandbox” ordeal, I’ve compiled a list of the best Single-Player survival games I’ve personally tried, alongside games that, while not necessarily a part of the genre, contain enough fitting elements that they’re worth a look.
Whilst buried under generally disgruntled reviewers and an indie scene with a seemingly never-ending influx of new releases, Hyper Light Drifter deserves better. This is not just another indie game; it’s an excellent one, and its put the developers at Heart Machine on the map.
Before any concrete details came to surface, Death Stranding’s initial E3 debut raised more questions than answers. Post release, its scores reflect how polarizing its been, and how different people see things depending on where in the world they live. I consider Death Stranding to be 2019’s best game, and without spoiling the story, I try to explain why I enjoyed the gameplay side of things.

No other shooter at this time can make my heart pound even close to the amount it does when I’m playing Tarkov. Still in development by Battlestate games, and already as unique as games come, it’s only going to get better from here.
